About Me
My name is Timothy Amatulli and I am a freelance filmmaker working in the Greater New York City Area. I aim to understand the different ways we live and think. Film is the medium through which I do it. All my life I have had a passion for storytelling on paper, stage, and screen. Early into college I found great enjoyment working in G&E on sets, and decided to pursue it, often working as a Gaffer or Grip while writing, directing, and producing my own work.
Growing up in both New Jersey and Tokyo, Japan, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience over a dozen countries, each of which has opened me up to the diversity humanity has to offer. I continued this fascination into my studies at Fairfield University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Film & Asian Studies and a double minor in Philosophy & Anthropology. At the end of my college career I was awarded the top student in both of my majors as well as inducted into the Philosophy Honor Society Phi Sigma Tau.
In addition to shouldering two majors and two minors, I spent three years working in equipment rental as an administrative manager concurrent to three different internships in every aspect of production. I am always trying to work and hope you enjoy looking through the fruits of my labor on this website. If you are interested in hiring me for anything from script consultation to on-set G&E work to editing assistance, please feel free to reach out!
